Who is a Young Professional?

A young professional is any one of any age with less than 5 years of professional GIS experience.

What are the goals of this SIG?

• Connect young professionals with jobs and resources to find jobs

• Bring more professionals with less than 5 years GIS experience into Volunteer and board positions over next 3 years

• Have fun!

What activities are happening as part of this SIG?

• In-Person Socials - Group meetup at a restaurant, park, etc. for a chance to meet YP-SIG members face-to-face and chat over some food, drinks, activities, and good company.

• Virtual YP-SIG Community Forum - Informal drop-in sessions for YP-SIG members to ask questions about GIS, get updates on YP-SIG efforts, and get involved.

• Virtual Lunch and Learn - Host a guest speaker to present on focused topics related to professional development and career success. Topics may include resumes, interviewing, LinkedIn Tips, Networking/ Personal Branding and more!

• YP Workshop - Full or half day in-person workshop with activities led by YP leadership team and WAGISA community.
